Julia Benson

Julia Benson (née Anderson; born 26 June 1979) is a Canadian actress known for her role as 2nd Lt. Vanessa James in the TV science fiction series Stargate Universe. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Benson began training as a dancer at the age of six and later graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in theatre and psychology. She further honed her acting skills at David Mamet's Atlantic Theater Company in New York City. Benson's notable film credits include her role as Anna in the 2007 film Road to Victory. In recognition of her performance in Stargate Universe, she received a 2010 Leo Award for Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series.
