Julien Baker

Julien Rose Baker is an American indie rock singer and guitarist. Born on September 29, 1995, in suburban Memphis, Tennessee, Baker gained recognition for her moody music and confessional lyrics. She explores themes such as Christianity, addiction, mental illness, and human nature in her work. While studying at Middle Tennessee State University, Baker released her debut album 'Sprained Ankle' in 2015, which received critical acclaim. She signed with Matador Records and achieved further success with her second studio album 'Turn Out the Lights' in 2017. Baker's third album, 'Little Oblivions' (2021), showcased a more full-band sound and reached the top 40 on the Billboard 200 chart. Additionally, she is a member of the indie supergroup Boygenius with Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus, releasing their debut EP in 2018.
