With a career spanning across various mediums, Cowan has made appearances in popular TV shows like EastEnders, Silent Witness, and Casualty. She has also had recurring roles in The Sarah Jane Adventures, This Life, and BBC comedy Back to Life. In addition to her television work, Cowan's first aired acting role was in the 1993 live performance video Raising Hell by Iron Maiden. She guest-starred in over 20 episodes of The Bill and starred in the penultimate episode of the Inspector Morse series. Cowan continues to impress audiences with her versatile performances.
