June Whitfield Biography
June Whitfield (11 November 1925 – 29 December 2018) was an English radio, television, and film actress. She gained recognition for her role in the radio comedy Take It from Here and went on to appear in various television shows, including multiple collaborations with Tony Hancock. Whitfield also had roles in four Carry On films and formed a long partnership with Terry Scott, starring as husband and wife in Happy Ever After and Terry and June. She played Edina Monsoon's mother in Absolutely Fabulous and had roles in Last of the Summer Wine and The Green Green Grass.
