Justin Guarini (born Justin Eldrin Bell; October 28, 1978) is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He gained prominence as the runner-up on the first season of American Idol in 2002. Guarini was born in Columbus, Georgia, to an African-American father, Eldrin Bell, a former Chief of Police in Atlanta, and an Italian-American mother, Kathy Pepino Guarini, a journalist. Raised primarily by his mother and stepfather in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Guarini attended Central Bucks High School East. His musical career began at a young age, singing with renowned choirs such as the Atlanta Boy Choir and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Boys Choir. Guarini has since pursued a successful career in music and acting.
