Justin Lin

Justin Lin is a Taiwanese-born American film and television director, producer, and screenwriter. Born on October 11, 1971, in Taipei, Taiwan, he immigrated to the United States at the age of eight and grew up in Buena Park, California. Lin is best known for his directorial work on films such as Better Luck Tomorrow (2002), the Fast & Furious franchise including The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), and F9 (2021), as well as Star Trek Beyond (2016). He has also worked on television programs like Community and the second season of True Detective. Lin attended the University of California, San Diego before transferring to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in film.
