Kal Penn

Kal Penn, born Kalpen Suresh Modi on April 23, 1977, is an American actor, author, and former White House staff member. He is recognized for his roles in various television shows and films. Penn portrayed Lawrence Kutner on the TV series House, Seth Wright on Designated Survivor, Kevin on How I Met Your Mother, and Kumar Patel in the Harold & Kumar film series. He also gave a notable performance in The Namesake. Aside from his acting career, Penn served as an associate director in the White House Office of Public Engagement during the Barack Obama administration. He briefly left his post to film the third Harold & Kumar film. Penn has also worked as a visiting lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania in the Cinema Studies Program.
