Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, born Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr. on April 16, 1947, is a retired American professional basketball player. He played a remarkable 20 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers. Abdul-Jabbar, primarily known for his role as a center, holds the record for being a six-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP). With 19 NBA All-Star appearances, he is tied for the most ever. Additionally, he has been honored as a 15-time All-NBA Team member and an 11-time NBA All-Defensive Team selection. Abdul-Jabbar achieved tremendous success, winning six NBA championships as a player and two more as an assistant coach. Renowned as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, he broke the NBA's career scoring record in 1984, a record that stood until 2023 when it was surpassed by LeBron James.
