Karen Hensel

Karen Hensel is an American actress known for her work in film and television. She is recognized for her recurring role as Doris Collins, the mother of Sharon Newman, on the popular American soap opera The Young and the Restless. Hensel portrayed Doris from 1994 to 2005 and made a return to the show in 2009. In addition to her soap opera role, she has guest-starred in various hit shows including Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Murder, She Wrote, Knots Landing, Strong Medicine, The Practice, Judging Amy, Frasier, Mama's Family, and The Magnificent Seven television series. Hensel has also appeared in the films Chained Heat, Faith, and Psycho III.
