Karen Tumulty
Karen Tumulty (born December 1, 1955) is a political columnist for The Washington Post. Prior to joining the Post, Tumulty worked at Time magazine from October 1994 to April 2010 as a Congressional Correspondent and National Political Correspondent based in Washington D.C. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977 with a BA in Journalism. Tumulty also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, which she obtained in 1981. She began her career at the San Antonio Light in 1977 and later spent 14 years with the Los Angeles Times, covering various beats including US Congress, economics, business, energy, and general-assignment. Tumulty is married to Paul Richter and has two sons. She is Catholic.
