Karina Smirnoff

Karina Smirnoff (born January 2, 1978) is a Soviet-born American professional ballroom dancer of Ukrainian origins. She is known for her appearances as a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars, winning season thirteen with J. R. Martinez. With multiple runner-up, semifinal, and quarterfinal titles, she is a five-time U.S. National Champion, World Trophy Champion, and Asian Open Champion. Smirnoff has also achieved victory at the UK Open, US Open, Asian Open, and Dutch Open. She has made history as the first woman to reach the British Professional Final with three different partners and made the final with four different partners from 1999 to 2006. Smirnoff was born in Kharkiv.
