Karl-Anthony Towns Jr., also known as KAT, is a Dominican-American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA. Born on November 15, 1995, in Edison, New Jersey, Towns played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats. He was selected as the first overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft by the Timberwolves and was named NBA Rookie of the Year for the 2015–16 season. Towns has achieved three All-Star selections and won the 2021–22 NBA Three-Point Contest. Prior to his basketball career, he attended Lake Nelson Seventh-Day Adventist School and Theodore Schor Middle School in New Jersey. Towns has also represented the Dominican Republic national team.
