Kate Rutter

Kate Rutter is an English actress best known for her roles in films such as I, Daniel Blake and Peterloo, as well as her appearances on the television show River City. Born and raised in Leeds, Yorkshire, Rutter received her training as an actress at Rose Bruford College in Sidcup, Southeast London. She began her career in 1977, working on various productions for Yorkshire Playhouse under the direction of Phil Young. Rutter made her first television appearance in 1994 in the series Earthfasts by William Mayne. In addition to her film and television work, Rutter has also been a series regular on ITV's Coronation Street. In 2020, she made headlines for her appearance on BBC's Question Time.
