Katharina Thalbach

Katharina Thalbach (born January 19, 1954) is a German actress and stage director. Born in East Berlin, she comes from a family of actors, with her father and mother both being in the industry. Thalbach began her acting career at the age of four, appearing on stage, television, and in films. She gained recognition for her role in the film The Tin Drum and went on to work extensively in both theatre and opera. Thalbach has performed at renowned theatres such as the Berliner Ensemble and the Volksbühne Berlin. In addition to her acting work, she has also directed productions in theater and opera.
