Kathleen Chalfant Biography
Kathleen Chalfant (born January 14, 1945) is an American actress known for her work on stage and television. Born Kathleen Ann Bishop in San Francisco, California, she was raised in Oakland. Chalfant studied acting in New York with Wynn Handman and Alessandro Fersen. She made her Off-Broadway debut in 1974 and has since appeared in over three dozen Off-Broadway productions. On television, Chalfant has made guest appearances on various series, including the Law & Order franchise. Some of her notable stage roles include her performance in the Women's Project Theater production of Dear Elizabeth and her portrayal of Rose Kennedy in the Nora's Playhouse production.
