Kathryn Meisle
Kathryn Meisle (October 14, 1899 —January 17, 1970) was an American operatic contralto. Born in Philadelphia, Meisle began her musical journey by taking piano lessons at a young age. Encouraged by her father, she later pursued vocal study and trained under notable teachers such as Enrica Clay Dillon. Meisle made her professional debut as a soloist with the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra in 1918 and her operatic debut as Erda in Richard Wagner's 'Siegfried' in 1923. Throughout her career, she appeared in various radio shows, including the Atwater Kent Radio Hour. Meisle was married to Calvin M. Franklin, who also served as her manager.
