Katie Leclerc

Katie Lynn Leclerc is an American actress and producer. She is known for her appearances on various television series, including Veronica Mars, Fashion House, Community, and The Big Bang Theory. In 2011, she landed the role of Daphne Vasquez in the television show Switched at Birth. Born in San Antonio, Texas, and raised in Lakewood, Colorado, Leclerc is of Canadian descent and is the youngest of three siblings. She began learning American Sign Language at 17 and later discovered that she had Ménière's disease, which causes hearing loss. Leclerc's older sister also teaches ASL, and both her father and sister have Ménière's disease. Leclerc married Brian Habecost in 2014, but they divorced in 2017. Her passion for acting began in seventh grade when she played the lead role in a production of Annie, and she pursued theater at Valley Center High School in San Diego.
