Katrina vanden Heuvel (born October 7, 1959) is an American editor and publisher. She is the former editor and current publisher of the progressive magazine The Nation. Vanden Heuvel held the position of editor from 1995 to 2019. She has made frequent appearances as a commentator on various political television programs. Additionally, she is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a US nonprofit think tank. Vanden Heuvel has also been recognized for her work and received the Norman Mailer Prize. Born in New York City, she is the daughter of Jean Stein, a best-selling author and William vanden Heuvel, a former US ambassador and attorney.
