Katy Carmichael Biography
Katy Jane Carmichael (born 5 March 1970) is an English actress, director, and producer. She gained recognition for her roles in various TV shows, including Twist Morgan in the Channel 4 sitcom Spaced, Lucy Barlow in the ITV soap Coronation Street, and Melissa Ryan in Waterloo Road. Carmichael's directing and producing work includes the critically acclaimed Mayday Mayday, performed at Bristol Old Vic and St Ann's Warehouse in New York. Born and raised in Liverpool, she attended Gateacre Community Comprehensive School and later studied drama, film, and television at Bristol University. Carmichael's first professional acting role was in the sitcom Bread, which she filmed while still in university.
