Kay E. Kuter Biography
Kay E. Kuter (April 25, 1925 – November 12, 2003) was an American actor known for his television and film appearances. He gained recognition for portraying farmer Newt Kiley on the CBS sitcoms Green Acres and Petticoat Junction, which shared several characters. Born in Los Angeles, California, Kuter was the son of Hollywood art director Leo K. Kuter and silent screen actress Evelyn Edler. Prior to his recurring roles on the sitcoms, he primarily played serious or 'heavy' characters in various 1960s series. Kuter also had a notable film career, appearing in movies such as The Last Starfighter, Warlock, and Gross Anatomy. He provided voice work for kids' films, including Annabelle's Wish and The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea. In addition, he lent his voice to numerous video games.
