Kelly Marie Tran

Kelly Marie Tran (born January 17, 1989) is an American actress known for her roles in movies and television. She started her acting career in 2011, primarily appearing in short films and TV shows. Tran gained international recognition for portraying Rose Tico in the Star Wars sequel trilogy films, 'The Last Jedi' (2017) and 'The Rise of Skywalker' (2019). She also lent her voice to Princess Raya in the Disney film 'Raya and the Last Dragon' (2021) and played Dawn Betterman in the DreamWorks Animation film 'The Croods: A New Age' (2020). Tran was born on January 17, 1989, in San Diego, California, to Vietnamese refugee parents. She attended Westview High School and later graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in communication.
