Kemiyondo Coutinho

Kemiyondo Coutinho is a Ugandan playwright, actress, and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. She is known for her influential work in the arts, including her directorial debut short film Kyenvu, which won Best Narrative Short Film at the Pan African Film Festival. Coutinho is also the founder of A Ka Dope, a music platform that aims to give new Ugandan artists an audience. Born in Kampala, Uganda, Coutinho moved to Swaziland at the age of three weeks and later attended the United World College of Waterford Kamhlaba. She graduated with a double major in Theater and Communications from Lewis & Clark College and earned her Masters in Fine Arts from The American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T).
