Ken Howard (1944-2016) was an American actor known for his roles in various movies and TV shows. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Thomas Jefferson in the film 1776 and as high school basketball coach Ken Reeves in the television series The White Shadow. Throughout his career, Howard received several accolades, including a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie. Additionally, he served as the president of the Screen Actors Guild and later became the first president of the newly merged SAG-AFTRA union. Howard passed away on March 23, 2016.
