Kendrick Le'Dale Perkins, born on November 10, 1984, is an American former professional basketball player and current sports analyst for ESPN. He gained recognition for his career in the NBA, playing for the Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New Orleans Pelicans. Perkins achieved notable success by winning the NBA Championship in 2008 as a member of the Celtics. Raised in Nederland, Texas by his grandparents, Perkins developed a passion for sports under the influence of his enthusiastic grandfather. In addition to basketball, he also played pick-up football games as a defensive end and participated in baseball as a first baseman. Perkins left baseball in ninth grade and focused on basketball.
