Kenji Utsumi Biography
Kenji Utsumi was a Japanese actor and voice actor known for his roles in various anime series. He was affiliated with Ken Production. Utsumi was best known for his roles as Sally's Papa in Sally the Witch (1966), Raoh and Kaioh in Fist of the North Star, Senbei Norimaki in Dr. Slump Arale-chan, Shenlong, Commander Red, Reacoom, and the Tenkaichi Budōkai announcer in the Dragon Ball series, Alex Louis Armstrong in Fullmetal Alchemist, and Coach Kamogawa in Hajime no Ippo. Additionally, he dubbed over the voices of several actors in the Japanese-language versions of their films. Utsumi received a lifetime achievement award at the third Seiyu Awards. He was married to fellow voice actor Michiko Nomura until his death. Utsumi passed away from peritoneal cancer on June 13, 2013.
