Kenneth Smith, born on March 8, 1965, is an American sports commentator and former professional basketball player. Known by the nickname 'the Jet', Smith played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1987 to 1997. He played for various teams including the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, and Denver Nuggets. With the Rockets, he won back-to-back NBA championships. Prior to his NBA career, Smith played college basketball with the North Carolina Tar Heels, earning All-American honors. After retiring as a player, Smith transitioned to a successful career as a basketball commentator, working for Inside the NBA on TNT and as an analyst for CBS/Turner during the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament.
