    Kerri Allyson Strug (born November 19, 1977) is a retired American gymnast from Tucson, Arizona. She gained international attention as a member of the Magnificent Seven, the victorious all-around women's gymnastics team at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Strug's most memorable moment came during the team competition when she performed a vault, despite having injured her ankle, securing the gold for the U.S. team. Strug began training in gymnastics at the age of three and joined the United States National Team under the coaching of Béla Károlyi. In 1992, she won a team bronze medal at the Barcelona Olympics. Strug's determination and resilience have made her a celebrated figure in the world of gymnastics.
