He has appeared in movies such as Dave (1993) as White House Communications Director Alan Reed, Godzilla (1998) as U.S. Army Colonel Hicks, and Small Soldiers (1998) as Stuart Abernathy's father. Dunn has also been a part of the Transformers film series, playing the role of Sam Witwicky's father Ron.
