Kevin McAleer (born 1956) is an Irish stand-up comedian who gained recognition through his appearances on the RTÉ television show Nighthawks in the late 1980s. Known for his surreal rustic tales delivered in a slow County Tyrone drawl, McAleer has been praised for his deadpan style. In 2022, he toured his one-man show titled 'Why am I Here' and portrayed the character of boring Uncle Colm in the TV series Derry Girls on Channel 4. Currently, McAleer is preparing for his upcoming show in 2023 called 'Kev's Top 40', aiming to condense forty years of live performances into a ninety-minute stage act. He resides in Omagh, County Tyrone and has a passion for writing, with an unfinished book about John F. Kennedy in his repertoire.
