Kevin McCarthy Biography
Kevin McCarthy (February 15, 1914 – September 11, 2010) was an American stage, film, and television actor. He gained recognition for his role as the male lead in the horror science fiction film Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956). McCarthy's career began with various television guest roles, and he made his first credited film appearance in Death of a Salesman (1951), earning a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Born in Seattle, Washington, McCarthy came from a wealthy Irish American family and had a distant cousin who was a U.S. Senator. He was also the brother of author Mary McCarthy.
