Kevin O'Rourke

Kevin Hjortshøj O'Rourke (born 25 March 1963) is an Irish economist and historian, specializing in economic history and international economics. He is currently the Professor of Economics at New York University Abu Dhabi since 2019. Prior to this, he served as Professor of Economics at Trinity College, Dublin from 2000 to 2011. O'Rourke has also taught at Columbia University and University College, Dublin. He held the position of Chichele Professor of Economic History at the University of Oxford from 2011 to 2019 and was a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford. O'Rourke was born on 25 March 1963 in Bern, Switzerland, to Andrew O'Rourke, a former Irish diplomat.
