Keyshia Myeshia Cole (née Johnson; born October 15, 1981) is an American R&B singer. She began her career as a backing vocalist for MC Hammer before signing with A&M Records. In 2005, she released her debut studio album, 'The Way It Is,' which was certified platinum by the RIAA. Cole gained further fame through her reality television series, 'Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is,' which aired on BET for three seasons. Her second album, 'Just Like You' (2007), produced three number-one R&B singles and earned her four Grammy nominations. Throughout her career, Cole has been recognized for her soulful voice and emotional performances.
