Kim Darby Biography
Kim Darby, born Deborah Zerby on July 8, 1947, is an American actress known for her roles in movies and TV shows. She gained recognition for her performance as Mattie Ross in the film True Grit (1969) and as Jenny Meyer in Better Off Dead (1985). Darby's parents were professional dancers Inga and Jon Zerby, also known as the 'Dancing Zerbys' or 'Dancing Zerbies'. She started her career as a singer and dancer under the stage name Derby Zerby. However, she later changed her name to Kim Darby, inspired by a popular girl in her high school. Darby's acting career began at the age of 15 with her debut in the film Bye Bye Birdie (1963). She also appeared in popular TV shows like Gunsmoke and Bonanza.
