Kirk Hammett

Kirk Lee Hammett is an American musician and lead guitarist of the heavy metal band Metallica since 1983. Born on November 18, 1962, in San Francisco, California, Hammett co-formed the thrash metal band Exodus in 1979 before joining Metallica. He has been recognized for his exceptional guitar skills and was ranked 11th on Rolling Stone's list of The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2003. In addition, he was ranked number 15 in Joel McIver's book The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists in 2009. Hammett's passion for horror movies dates back to the late 1960s, and he is known for his extensive collection of horror memorabilia.
