Kirsten Nelson (born October 3, 1970) is an American actress and director. She is best known for her role as Police Chief Karen Vick on the TV series Psych. Nelson was born in Enid, Oklahoma and raised in Chicago. She graduated from Northwestern University and was a founding member of Chicago's Roadworks Theatre Ensemble. In 1995, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. Nelson has appeared in various TV shows including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The West Wing, and Boy Meets World. She also had a role in the film Baby's Day Out. Nelson is married, has two children, and is an ELCA Lutheran.
