Kirsten Rolffes (20 September 1928 – 10 April 2000) was a Danish actress known for her work in film, television, and stage. She gained international recognition for her roles in The Kingdom and Matador. Rolffes was a key cast member in Denmark's first sitcom, Een stor familie (One big family), set in an early 1980s office building. She attended drama school at Frederiksberg Theater and the National Theater, honing her skills and preparing for a successful career. Rolffes became famous in Denmark for her role in the country's first soap opera, Landsbyen (The Village). She also contributed to animation, lending her voice to iconic characters like Ursula in The Little Mermaid and Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty. In addition to her screen work, Rolffes showcased her talent on stage at the National Theater. In recognition of her contributions to the theatrical arts, she was knighted in 1990 by Queen Margrethe II.
