Kristy McNichol Biography
Kristy McNichol, born Christina Ann McNichol on September 11, 1962, in Los Angeles, California, is an American former actress. She began her career as a child actress and gained fame in 1976 for her role as Letitia 'Buddy' Lawrence in the TV drama Family, for which she won two Emmy Awards. McNichol appeared in several notable roles including Angel in the film Little Darlings, Polly in Only When I Laugh, and Barbara Weston in the TV sitcom Empty Nest. She retired from acting in 2001. McNichol comes from a Scottish/Irish and Lebanese background. Alongside her brother Jimmy McNichol, she also made guest appearances on various TV series such as Starsky & Hutch, The Bionic Woman, Love, American Style, and The Love Boat.
