She gained recognition after her captivating live solo performance of her song 'Black Horse and the Cherry Tree' on Later... with Jools Holland in 2004. Her debut studio album, 'Eye to the Telescope,' was released the same year and earned her nominations for the Mercury Prize, BRIT Awards, and a Grammy Award.
