Kurt Andersen (born August 22, 1954) is an American writer, known for his work in novels, nonfiction, television, and theater. He co-founded Spy magazine in 1986 and served as its co-creator and host of the weekly Peabody Award-winning public radio program and podcast Studio 360 for its 20-year run. Andersen was born in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from Westside High School. He attended Harvard College, where he was an editor and vice-president of the Harvard Lampoon, and graduated magna cum laude. In 1988, Andersen and his co-founder coined the epithet 'short-fingered vulgarian Donald Trump' in Spy magazine. Andersen's contributions have had a significant impact on New York's cultural landscape.
