Kurt Angle Biography
Kurt Steven Angle (born December 9, 1968) is an American retired professional wrestler and former collegiate wrestler. He gained fame as a gold medalist in American freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Olympic Games. Angle is best known for his time in WWE and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). At Clarion University of Pennsylvania, he was a two-time NCAA Division I Wrestling Champion in the heavyweight division. Angle also won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1995 World Wrestling Championships and the 1996 Summer Olympics, despite competing with a broken neck. Recognized as one of the greatest shoot wrestlers, he is a member of the amateur grand slam club, having won the Junior Nationals, NCAA, World Championships, and the Olympics.
