Lamar Odom is an American former professional basketball player. Born on November 6, 1979, he achieved success as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, winning championships in 2009 and 2010. Odom was also named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2011. Prior to his NBA career, Odom received national player of the year honors in high school and played college basketball for the University of Rhode Island. He was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers as the fourth overall pick in the 1999 NBA draft and was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team in his rookie season. Known for his versatility, Odom played for the Miami Heat before being traded back to the Lakers. Overall, he spent seven seasons with the Lakers, making significant contributions to the team.
