Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey, born Elizabeth Woolridge Grant on June 21, 1985, is an American singer-songwriter. Known for her cinematic music and exploration of tragic romance, glamour, and melancholia, Del Rey incorporates references to contemporary pop culture and 1950s–1970s Americana into her work. She has received several accolades, including two Brit Awards, two Billboard Women in Music awards, two MTV Europe Music Awards, and a Satellite Award. Del Rey has been nominated for six Grammy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. In 2012, Time magazine recognized her as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Originally from northern New York, Del Rey relocated to New York City in 2005.
