Lawrence Sheldon Gelman (November 3, 1930 – June 7, 2021) was an American film and television character actor. He was best known for his roles as Dr. Bernie Tupperman on the TV series The Bob Newhart Show and Vinnie in the original TV series version of The Odd Couple. Gelman was born on November 3, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York. Throughout his career, he appeared in various American television series, including The Monkees, Batman, Get Smart, I Dream of Jeannie, The Doris Day Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and Barney Miller, among others. Gelman's talent and presence made him a familiar face in the entertainment industry.
