Larry Hagman Biography
Larry Martin Hagman (September 21, 1931 – November 23, 2012) was an American film and television actor, director, and producer. He is best known for his portrayal of ruthless oil baron J. R. Ewing in the primetime television soap opera Dallas (1978–1991) and the befuddled astronaut Major Anthony Nelson in the sitcom I Dream of Jeannie (1965–1970). Hagman also had supporting roles in films such as Fail-Safe, Harry and Tonto, S.O.B., Nixon, and Primary Colors. He made guest appearances on numerous TV shows throughout his career and reprised his role as J. R. Ewing in the 2012 revival of Dallas. Hagman also worked as a television producer and director. He passed away on November 23, 2012, from complications of acute myeloid leukemia.
