Larry Wilcox Biography
Larry Dee Wilcox (born August 8, 1947) is an American actor best known for his role as California Highway Patrol officer (later captain) Jonathan 'Jon' Baker in the television series CHiPs, which ran from 1977 to 1983 on NBC. Wilcox, a Vietnam veteran, is also a private pilot and races cars. Born in San Diego, Wilcox and his three siblings were raised by their single mother in Rawlins, Wyoming. He attended Rawlins High School and later transferred to Los Angeles Pierce College and Cal State Northridge. Before his acting career, Wilcox worked in various jobs including as a rodeo cowboy. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
