Lars Ulrich Biography
Lars Ulrich (born 26 December 1963) is a Danish musician and co-founder of the American heavy metal band Metallica. He is best known as the drummer of the band. Ulrich started his musical career after moving to Los Angeles at the age of 16 to pursue tennis training, but instead, he developed a passion for playing the drums. Ulrich met James Hetfield through an advertisement and together they formed Metallica. Ulrich, along with Hetfield, has songwriting credits on nearly all of the band's songs. Born into an upper-middle-class family in Gentofte, Denmark, Ulrich's grandfather faced persecution during World War II due to his Jewish heritage.
