LaTanya Richardson Jackson (born October 21, 1949) is an American actress known for her work in both film and television. She started her career in off-Broadway productions before transitioning to supporting roles on the small and big screen. Richardson has appeared in notable films such as Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), Malcolm X (1992), Sleepless in Seattle (1993), and Losing Isaiah (1995), among others. On television, she has been featured in shows like 100 Centre Street (2001–2002), Luke Cage (2016–2018), and Rebel (2017). Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Richardson met and married fellow actor Samuel L. Jackson in 1980. The couple has one child, Zoe Jackson, who is a freelance film and TV producer.
