LaToya London

LaToya Renee London is an American R&B and soul singer, stage actress, and former contestant on American Idol. Born on December 29, 1978, in San Francisco, California, and raised in Oakland, London showcased her singing talent from a young age, performing at her mother's wedding at the age of 7 and singing at Allen Temple Baptist church. She gained recognition as a finalist on the third season of American Idol and went on to release her debut album, Love & Life, in September 2005. London has since focused on stage work, including playing the role of Nettie in the national tour of The Color Purple and starring in the U.S. regional debut of The Bodyguard, a musical based on the 1992 film.
