Laurence Henry Lau is an American television and stage actor, best known for his roles in several soap operas. Born on May 10, 1954, in Long Beach, California, Lau was raised in Lake Oswego, Oregon. He attended Columbia University and Brigham Young University. Lau gained popularity for his portrayal of Greg Nelson on All My Children (1981–1986), where his character engaged in a relationship with Jenny Gardner. He also had notable roles on Another World as Jamie Frame (1986–1990) and One Life to Live as attorney Sam Rappaport (2001—2003). In addition to his soap opera work, Lau appeared in the TV comedy/drama Eight Is Enough in 1980 and has also performed on stage.
