Lawrence Michael Levine

Lawrence Michael Levine (born 1976) is an American actor, writer, and filmmaker. He gained recognition for his work as a writer and director in films such as Gabi on the Roof in July, Wild Canaries, and Black Bear. Levine made his directorial debut in 2005 with the film Territory, which was based on his stage play of the same name. He went on to write and direct the short films The Empress and Fat Friend in 2009. In 2010, he received critical acclaim for his romantic drama/comedy Gabi on the Roof in July. His work has been praised for its exploration of ordinary characters and nuanced storytelling.
